Is All Not Rosy and Cozy Between Jemaine & McKenzie?

May 3rd, 2012

I have often heard that one and one makes eleven. But being addicted to the precision that math brings to all aspects, I always maintained a tendency to shove aside the aforesaid!

Now I know it was meant to be philosophical and the duo that exemplifies one plus one equals to eleven is none other than the musical partners- Jemaine & McKenzie. When they join hands on stage, what follows next is an eruption of a power-packed, soul-stirring extravaganza.

To my gaping amazement, the two haven’t been together for almost an year now, and with McKenzie being the sole Oscar winner among both, are inextinguishable sparks of rift marring the partnership we so love to lay our eyes on.

Rumors have it that McKenzie in a humorous tone shared that Jemaine has engineered an artificial Oscar for himself to make up for the absence of this prestigious trophy.

Do you doubt whether this statement was oozed out in good humor or Mckenzie was rubbing salt on the wounds of Jemaine.

I must stall the confusion-triggering spiraling of your brains right here to proclaim that they only harbor brotherly feelings for each other, as both are all set to reunite for an upcoming tour, this time in Australia.

I am already feeling jealous of the lucky kangaroo-populated nation known for its exotic beers and sun-kissed beaches.

Now, if you were wondering that why the two haven’t been together of late, it’s been mainly due to individual projects they landed during the past one year. Among them, McKenzie gave his expert inputs to ‘The Muppets’ and a film titled ‘Two Little Boys.’ To be precise, he’s been doing it all: acting, writing and music.

Anyway, with their Australian tour lined up, I expect a great job from them, just as I expect every time I watch The Flight Of The Conchords online.

Bret McKenzie says Hello to the Oscars

March 27th, 2012

Guess who is waiting for the Oscars eagerly?

Although, I don’t think there would be a single soul who doesn’t look forward to witness the grandest night of Hollywood. But there is still someone who is losing his sleep to the dreams in which he hears “And the Oscar for the Best Original Song goes to…..”

Bret McKenzie the creator of the smash hit comedy series Flight of the Conchords has found a space in the nominee catalogue of the most prestigious awards of the world cinema, Oscars. The luminary has been nominated for the award of the Best Original Song of the year. He has been nominated for his song Man or Muppet which plays in the film The Muppets.

The man has made his mark yet again with his creation. Win or no win, the nomination must have made him proud and enthusiastic for the night soon approaching.

Flight of Conchords download will give you the taste of his talent as you watch the show that depicts the McKenzie’s and his partner Jemaine Clement’s real lives.

The man is only one other nomination away from the title and the golden lady.  Throwing up the big tiff for Bret McKenzie is the sound track of the film Rio, Real in Rio.

These two songs were shortlisted after eliminating a long list of 39 songs. Some of the songs that featured in the list are the creations of pioneers of the industry who could give these two a very tough fight. Brushing of the honchos of the music world these two great creators are up in front with all eyes on them. Foremen like Elton John for Hello Hello duet from Gnomeo and Juliet and Robbie Williams for the duet Collision of Worlds from the film Cars 2 were beaten in the elimination round.

On being honored in such great event McKenzie said that he is surprised to see that the competition is amongst only two of competitors which make the probability of 5 percent each. Although jokingly he stated that it would have wonderful if it was only his song that was nominated.

The song is amazing so are you McKenzie. Have faith and hopefully the host ends the announcement with your name as the winner.

Rhys Darby His share of compliment is people laughing at him!

January 12th, 2012

One of his recent projects has him in the part of a voice actor lending his voice to an elf in the anime offering, ‘Arthur Christmas’.

Ask Rhys Darby about the whole experience and pat come the reply, that after the recording there was this mister who tells him, that the best part is this that they don’t have to adjust his voice.

Rhys is actually confused whether he is supposed to take it as an insult or a compliment.

Perhaps that’s the simplicity of his character which is evident when he confides that his share of compliment is people laughing at him.

Ironic but that’s true, for a comedian it is important that people do understand and relish the pun that’s being served in the menu.

On that note he truly deserves ten out of ten for the brilliant portrayal of Murray Hewitt in this comedy drama.

You can surely slip into the leisure mode and poke your nose into the Flight of the Conchords episodes and bump into him again.

Pose a query to him regarding the rumor that he was due to replace Steve Carell in the famous sitcom, ‘The Office’ and he clears the mist of doubt on that front as well.

Those people interviewed him for sure for as long as two hours and then decided to tread on some other path.

Never mind fella, it happens, that’s a part and parcel of the game.

In midst of the shows and advertisements that come his way he also dedicates a lot of his time to the stand-up act.

Guess that’s a way of brushing up his skills and attaining an even higher pedestal.

In what may term as a smart move, he proclaims that the benefit that comes with being an actor and a comedian that he can pretend so very easily!

Bret McKenzie An Oscar is On its Way!

January 3rd, 2012

It occurs at times, when even the creator of a masterpiece is not sure, if it would be such a big hit with the audience.

Perhaps, the en masse is meant to give so much affection and warmth to the ‘creation’, that only then, one is struck with its importance.

Bret McKenzie, for that matter, must surely be on cloud nine at the moment.

His song titled, ‘Life is a Happy Song’, a part of the film, ‘The Muppets’, is creating waves everywhere.

The response has been so positive that everyone is singing it loudly these days.

And now, Bret McKenzie might even bag an Oscar for this amazing feat.

Now that’s certainly good news for the man and those who like listening to his music.

As far as Bret is concerned, he is certainly elated that his hard work has borne such sweet fruits.

Nonetheless, he took up the challenge very sportingly; one that required him to be at par with a franchise that has enticed viewers for almost twenty years.

Just like the film’s screenwriter, Nick Stoller, several others also harbor the same contention that an Oscar nomination might be on its way for Bret McKenzie.

Till this thing materializes, there’s another piece of good news for Bret fans.

Disclaimer: Those who watch Flight of the Conchords online might jump up and fall off their couches, so hold on to something really firm!

Guys, you might be addicted to the download route, but this is something you will want to know!

Bret McKenzie has hit off on the optimistic path, by stating that a movie based on the show is due!

Don’t know about you people, but I am certainly finding it difficult to keep a check on my emotions.

Wow! Guess one couldn’t ask for anything more!

If the ‘Muppets’ delight can be followed by the ‘Conchords’ movie, Bret, I assure you that 2012 would be a rocking year for all of us!

Jemaine Clement Its Not a Predicament Anymore!

December 28th, 2011

He is a musician who can mesmerize anyone with his enchanting tunes.

Yeah!

And we know very well, for that glimpse is etched in our minds.

The movie ‘Predicament’, which has Jemaine Clement as one of the cast members, has done quite impressively at the recently concluded Aotearoa Film & Television Awards in Auckland.

Also known as the ‘Craft’ Awards, at least five of these were bestowed upon the ‘Predicament’; thus getting rid of that lukewarm response received by the movie, during its earlier phase.

If you have enjoyed Jemaine Clement’s performance in all those Flight of the Conchords episodes, I bet even you are going to be bowled over by this offering.

Set in the backdrop of the 1930s, the movie deals with the story of a teenager, who harbors notorious plans of shooting wealthy and adulterous couples and then extracting money from them.

Ah!

That reminds me of Mel (Kristen Schaal) a unique member on board this musical comedy, that aired from 2007-2009.

Mel was known for her amorous intentions and perhaps the only person who adored the musical wannabes, Jemaine and Bret, like anything.

Is it something between Jemaine Clement and those amatory notions?

Oh please! No need to feel offended out there.

I was just kidding!

While that predicament has been shred for good, let’s see what else Jemaine Clement comes up with, in the near future!

They Would Return For Sure!

December 23rd, 2011

This duo, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, came from New Zealand with big dreamy eyes, as they set their goal on making a mark in the New York City.

Let me make a confession straightaway - they might be a few steps behind the likes of stalwarts like Elvis Presley or the Beatles, but they have a charisma of their own.

Probably that’s something which is hard to resist!

The musical foray lasted from 2007-2009 and we miss it like anything. If it weren’t for the Flight of the Conchords download, it would have surely been havoc, next to being asphyxiated.

How would you react, if I were to tell you that there exists a probability that they might make a foray back onto our small screens?

Ok, relax guys, take a deep breath before you start panting with excitement.

Now you know that one has to watch out for the surprises I throw, rather abruptly.

That assurance has poured in from none other than one amongst the creators and the producer of the show, James Bobin.

While the duo has been very busy of late, as their musical stint continues to deliver one feat after another, Bobin could only riposte all the queries, by saying that it would happen for sure!

All they are waiting for, is the right moment.

The show had come to a halt, as Bobin maintains, owing to the multi-tasking, that the principal duo was doing. So, it included not only acting or singing, but also writing scripts.

Well Bobin, a promise made has to be fulfilled at all costs, but don’t take it as a warning, sweetheart!

However, please do work out a way, by which we can get to see Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, together, once again.

The musical saga never comes to an end that easily, it stays there in the zephyr at least till eternity and I’m sure Bret and Jemaine have many new stories to share with us!

Kristen Schaal Look Patroness Of The Game Is Back!

November 22nd, 2011

Actors owing to the celebrity status they enjoy under the sun, often give their nod to myriad other things!

Guys, I do have faint memories of those lessons that were spoonfed to us as management students. Marketing guru Philip Kotler used to assert that getting celebrities to endorse a respective product, actually gives it a vantage point in front of the niche customers.

Well, the lady garnering the spotlight at the moment is none other than accomplished actress, Kristen Schaal.

Watch Flight of the Conchords online and catch up with the impressive story of the duet of two country side singers, who trudge along the chintzy alleys of the town in the hope of making it big.

The singing duo of Jemaine and Bret leave no stone unturned, as they traverse an extremely illustrious journey from their native place, New Zealand, to the turf of their dreams, New York.

The reason one should go for a download of this musical comedy is the sheer element of inspiration that comes forth in the form of nuggets.

Coming back to the buzz in town, Kristen Schaal has joined hands with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play phone, whereby an attractive scheme has been adhered along with the ‘Minecraft’ game.

This console facilitates a user to build figurines that please the mind and gambol around with sand.

‘Build 4 Kristen’ contest allows you to build something that’s impressive enough to win you a trip to New York, and meet Kristen Schaal in person!

While the fans of the actress would be gearing up to make the most of this golden opportunity coming their way, all that the lady is looking forth are excellent pixelated structures!

We do hope that it turns out to be a wondrous experience for both the parties, as they try to build a new kind of relationship with each other!

James Bobin – Maestro of Comedy!

September 22nd, 2011

There are individuals who master any art form over a period of time, as they delve deeper into it with every passing day.

In fact, at this juncture I’m reminded of the philosophy offered by the great author Malcolm Gladwell that the more a given player or the more an artist practices on a daily basis, the more he inches towards what we call perfection!

I’m sure you would agree with me that we can include the name of the creator of Flights of the Conchords, James Bobin, in this list.

If the mere mention of the man reminds you of going for a Flight of the Conchords download, I would say, go ahead dude, what are you waiting for?

And now, another good piece of news is round the corner for James Bobin. He has grabbed an impressive deal with HBO that hovers around the genre he masters!

Yes! You got it right - comedy!

We simply loved to watch out for every successive batch of Flight of the Chonchords, which showcased the tryst of two men and their passion for music, as they traversed an immensely eventful journey!

Going by the success of this show, I see nothing except wide smiles spreading across the faces of the audience, as they look out for more from the ‘Bobin Camp!’

These days, James is occupied with two projects that also deal with comedy; these happen to be ‘Marbury Vs. Madison’ and ‘Permanently Temporary’. While the former deals with a tussle on the academic front, the latter showcases inter-generational comedy from the world of females!

Ah! I’m already drooling at the prospect!

Rhys Darby – With the Laws, Not With the Government!

August 31st, 2011

I was wondering what is actor Rhys Darby’s sun-sign!

Is he a Libran?

Well, no need to draw the inference that I’ve just finished reading ‘Linda Goodman’ and stuff!

Definitely it’s not another attempt to ensure that you are punk’d like never before!

Ok, I’ll milk that cow after some time, for let me have those usual incantations fill my ears before I move on!

Now you are no longer kidos who need to be reprimanded, telling them to watch Flight of the Conchords online and catch up with a comedy that brings forth the travails of a duo that make their presence felt later on with a BANG!!

Though this instance crept out of the hearth somewhere around June, I thought of apprising my beloved readers as well of the entire helter-skelter occurrences that followed.

There is quite a lot shaking of those tectonic plates out there, and I thought of not losing track of it amidst the download frenzy!

We saw that inability of Murray Hewitt (Rhys Darby), the manager who was able to do everything except manage the affairs of the band, the Conchords!

It seems Rhys Darby is in the habit of fudging it all up in real life too!

As the actor exclaims that he does not support the government with regards to the latest anti-piracy laws, Mr. Darby did make an appearance in a video that was backed by a copyright representative group.
Rhys tried to balance it all like a true Libran does by babbling all sorts of things.

But, it isn’t easy to put it in place once you have spoilt the entire broth; here it was not the consequence of a multi-party affair, rather an individual!

Hope Rhys has learnt the lesson thoroughly, for the duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie did climb the ladder up to success despite all those oddities. But for Rhys, things can backfire rather badly!

As they say, watch your words and actions like nothing else; Mr. Darby needs to walk down the tightrope keeping that in mind!

Better luck next time dude!

Kristen Schaal – Her Name Is Being Written With CHALK!

August 19th, 2011

You might be wondering why we are talking about chalk in the whole world!

After all, this is digital age, when I-pad has set the market on fire, But when Mel wants your attention, she makes sure that she has it!

So don’t you dare ignore her, or for that matter, misspell her name!

And with that Rx (just the way it goes in a doctor’s prescription), go for Flight of the Conchords download and catch up with the singing duo of Jemaine and Bret, and the muse, Mel (Kirsten Schaal).

Watch out for an angry Kirsten, after someone misspells her name!

Ok! So her relationship status went something like this - married, but you could always add, never minds stalking to it! Well, it was utterly hilarious, and that was perhaps how the pun was meant to be served in its own wacky style!

So who’s writing her name with chalk?

Well, it’s our Bart from Simpsons, who is busy finishing off stacks of chalks, scribbling it all over the blackboard!

Oh! No! No! Bart has certainly not turned into a jilted lover!

But it so happened that in one of the batches of the animated series, Kristen’s name was misspelled, and this is how the folly was made up for.

‘It’s Kristen Schaal, Not Kristen Schall’ went the rant, which actually was very cute!

Kristen undoubtedly experienced that as some ‘cloud nine moments’, for no one has ever pleased her so much!

All those, who dote on this extremely talented lady, now know what they are supposed to do in order to impress her!

Perhaps, even Bart and co. were terrified at the idea of being stalked!

This is not a joke guys, but yes you can laugh to your heart’s content, I would certainly not mind!

Good riddance of the trouble!
