As Flight of the Conchords episodes have deserted the small screen some time back, all the fans of this musical comedy must be missing it. Isn’t it?

But now you need not to hang on to your hats anymore, as Flight of the Conchords’ stars are returning to the small screen. Isn’t it great news?

Well indeed it’s great, but guys hold on! Let me clear the air of confusions.  You can definitely enjoy one more performance of this show’s stars, but it doesn’t mean that the show will kick off once again. In fact this time you can enjoy Flight of the Conchords stars in a guest appearance that will be on The Simpsons.

The Simpsons is an animated TV show, which has had a record run of twenty years. And this year Wellington duo Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, who have worked in Flight of the Conchords episodes, are set to appear on this animated show.

It is said that in the 20 years long airing history of Simpsons, ‘Xena’ star Lucy Lawless and ‘Jurassic Park’ star Sam Neill are the only other Kiwis to guest star on the show. Lawless appeared in Simpsons’ Halloween special as herself in ‘Xena’ costume in 1999 and the other New Zealand native Neill voiced the cat burglar “Molloy” in 1994.

And now as Jemaine and Bret are going to appear on this show, it’s a great thing for their fans, who still love to watch Flight of the Conchords episodes online. Now they can enjoy their performance on another show soon.

It is also rumored that in 2008 this duo was up for guest roles, but Simpsons’ executive consultant Antonia Coffman negated these rumors and said that they had no plans that time.

Anyways, the role of Jemaine and Bret in the show is still not clear, but it is said that they have rehearsed lines over the phone from Wellington with Nancy Cartwright, who is the voice of Bart Simpson on the show.
