Flight of the Concords is about these two friends Bret and Jemaine, who have just shifted from New Zealand to New York, in order to find success. The series is about their journey toward success. The series covers the journey of two musicians, their struggle and the problems that they face in order to be a success.

The season opens up with two friends getting into trouble because of a girl, Sally. Sally is an ex-girlfriend of Bret and Jemaine has fallen for her, which creates problem between them. Their journey is not a smooth one, for sure. The next they have to face is financial crisis, because of which Bret needs to take up a job, leaving him with no time for the band. With all this going on the series never lacks out on the comedy part of it. Finally the guys have some good news for them, as the band manager, Murray is able to crack a deal for the band. He also arranges a tour for the show, which will ultimately lead to the publicity of the band. The season ends with a new entry in the band, Todd, who is not able to click well with Bret and Jemaine. Will he be able to make it with the band? Actually he does and it is Bret who is thrown out of the band and he ends up making his own band.
