This year, the show is nominated in Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (for the episode ‘The Tough Brets’), Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Jemaine Clement), Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics (for the song ‘Carol Brown’), Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half Hour) and Animation, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (for the episode ‘Prime Minister’). HBO executives have already shown their interest in producing the third series of Flight of the Conchords. “When they’re ready, we’re ready… they have the added challenge of writing an album … we’re waiting for them to tell us they’re ready” was said by Co-president Richard Plepler and Programming head Michael Lombardo says, “We’ve told them we’re ready to go for a third season.”.

Actor Rhys Darby, who is their band’s manger in ‘Flight of the Conchords’ said, “There’s been orders for another season but I know the guys have a British mentality where you create something, you finish it and move on.
